Helton Campsite is perfectly located, giving visitors easy access to a wide range of attractions. With just a 10 minute drive, you could be exploring Lowther Castle, walking by Ullswater lake or visiting a local village. We also of course have many hiking routes nearby.
Ullswater
The closest lake to our campsite is Ullswater. If you would like to go for a swim or a walk by the lakeside, it is just a 10 minute drive away. There are also activities and other attractions dotted all around the lake, such as Aria Force, boat cruises and boat hire, hiking routes and more. Visit this page for more details.
Hiking
For a more challenging outing, Helvellyn is just half an hour away from camp. Standing 950m tall, it is the third highest peak in England. For this walk, it is highly recommended you take the proper gear.
